The midway point for Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's #45 theme has arrived.

Theme #45 is New Year (2024) theme with heart/love==>

2 parts:

1. NYD 2024 (image/photo/sentiment related); ideas of celebrating, time, resolutions, best wishes, calendars, countdowns, fireworks, etc.  Or go back to previous years if you're doing scrapbook, journal, TN layouts. 

AND

2. at least 1 of these: heart shape, the word 'heart', and/or the word 'love'

(heartfelt, heartwarming, loving, beloved, agape, charity, etc.)

December 28-January 13, 2023 with start and end times of 12am CT/Chicago or 6am UK for 2 time references.

Each participant can enter 3 themed projects per competition. 

Bragging rights are possible.

We are still needing 2 or more talented artisans to join our design team. If interested or have questions about the duty details, message Becca at

2024 theme structuring will be different. There will be list A and list B that will each have 3 options. Part A's list will be theme elements and Part B's list will be our signature heart/love choices that will vary. Each participant gets to pick at least 1 from each part to create their own theme pairing! So lots of flexibility and creative opportunities for twice per month competitions at HQCB!!!

 Heartfelt Greetings to the Midway Reminder Post for Theme #21 at Heart's Quest!

Theme #21 requires:

a. use of heart/love ('heart' shape or word; or word 'love')

AND

b. your choice of either New Year's Day or Birthday occasion

*If you happen to know someone born on January 1st and you want to combine the occasions into 1 project entry that is fine. 

*You may also use both heart shapes with the word 'heart' and/or 'love'; use both words in a phrase, quote, song lyric, etc.

Competition started December 28, 2022 and will end at 12:30am CT/Chicago on January 13, 2023.

*For Design Team inspiration, I've created 2 bookmarks 

HNY = Happy New Year small bookmark

['love' stamp + HNY/Happy New Year alpha tile stickers for theme #21 requirements]  

The gold, amber, and kraft tones contrast with the red, red-purple, and raspberry pink for an interesting combination.

Spider mum stamp is from Hero Arts and love stamp is from Crafter's Choice. Applying gold metallic stamp pad ink to all the paper edges was the most time consuming part of creating this. :)

AND

HB2U = Happy Birthday 2/to U/you bookmark

[3 red glitter heart stickers + HB2U stickers; also celebrating forest friends] 

Orange, lime green, black, and brownish-gray cording repeat the main colors of the recycled wrapping paper (Brother <3 Sister Design/Hobby Lobby) that are adhered to recycled kraft cardstock packaging (liner/tray for fun size candy bars!!!).

1. DT member Willa Jean=

Willa Jean's created a very pretty and feminine birthday card! I love her contrast in lots of curved lines (cursive font, flowers, and hearts) versus straight lines (papers and card shape). This is so sweet and delicate!

2. DT member Lori S= Thanks for getting HQCB started with your marvelous layouts and cards! I'm so thankful for the many months you devoted to Heart's Quest. Best wishes for focusing 2023 on personal/family scrapbooks and TN layouts!

[2 light blue and silver mirror foil hearts + birthday]

I've had the heart stickers on a sticker sheet for a long time. It's overdue to get those sheets finished! During a few days of crafting different DT projects with different themes/seasons, I got repetitive with using light blue, white, and silver as the color palette. This is the first one to share with more to be shown during the next 2 weeks. It was refreshing for me in the midst of doing lots of greens and reds on Christmas cards!

[1 silver heart shape + New Year's Day]

Unbelievably this card was made in about 35 minutes! Courtesy of a 2020 pocket calendar that I've upcycled 3 pieces from helped with the quick processing. The checked/plaid cardstocks and paper were inked, adhered and outlined at the same time. The silver glitter accents were applied next. Then the calendar pieces and project life Sunday strip were inked and adhered at the same time. Last was to take some thin blue tonal plaid scraps with inked edges and staple in the upper right corner.
